Kristel has been in the entertainment industry her whole life. From the time she was old enough to walk she was dancing and is in fact still a much better dancer than walker, as she has a tendency to bump into things.
Kristel also performed with choirs from a young age and still sings with her band The Vibes all over Adelaide, and some of her proudest moments came when she represented Australia at international competitions in the USA with the Australian Drill Dance Team 3 times.
Nowadays, if you’re crazy enough to be up at 6am, you’ll hear Kristel doing her thing on the Power FM SA breakfast radio show the Power Pack with Kristel and Damon, which she’s been doing for three years. You can also probably find her napping in her car on the side of the ride at around 3pm daily…
Kristel has been in a battle with endo for more than 10 years but was diagnosed just over 4 years ago and there have been multiple surgeries and many a ‘burnt to extinction wheatbag,’ (may they rest in peace) since then.
She realised when she opened up about her condition on the show for the first time prior to a round of surgery despite feeling so apprehensive about it she thought she would vomit, that people needed to hear other women talking about Endo. The response from listeners made it so clear that bringing Endo into the open was the right thing to do and so Kristel hasn’t shut up about it since, except to listen to others experiences and to listen to the Foo Fighters and her ‘Old School Love’ playlist on Spotify.
