Dr Jane Chalmers (PhD, B.Physio) is a Senior Lecturer in Pain Sciences at the University of South Australia. She is the leader of the pelvic pain theme under the Innovation, Implementation And Clinical Translation in Health (IIMPACT) research concentration at the University of South Australia.

Actor, singer and writer Mia Morrissey started acting at sixteen, starring in Venice Film festival favourite, Bat Eyes. Shortly after, she landed channel 7 musical comedy series In Your Dreams, which shot in Australia and Germany for two seasons (for which she also wrote original music.)  

Deciding to pursue training, she completed the WAAPA full time acting course shortly after the series ended. Since graduating in 2018, some of her most notable screen and theatre credits have included Jade Lennox on Home and Away, Mimi in RENT at the Sydney Opera House, Laura Cunningham on Stan and Sundance series Totally Completely Fine and most recently, Nadiyah Zammit on Amazon Original series Deadloch. She also wrote, composed and starred in, In Loving Memory; A one person musical about grief, produced by The Hayes Theatre.

Mia is an active spokesperson for body positivity and neutrality. She started the successful instagram campaign, “The Gained Project” during covid lockdown and has worked with The Butterfly Foundation to help bring awareness to the dangers of Eating Disorders.

She is also passionate about eradicating the societal shame around menstruation, so uses her voice with the aim of normalising period talk and spreading awareness for Endometriosis and other reproductive conditions.
